Group B Strep
Why consider alternative treatment for Group B Strep?
Conventional treatment to prevent GBS transmission at birth is intravenous antibiotics administered four to six hours prior to delivery, for women who have tested positive for GBS. While no mother wants to pass potentially harmful bacteria to her baby through the birth canal, it is important to note that a baby also receives essential healthy bacteria and other micro-flora when passing through the birth canal. The exchange of micro-flora during birth marks the very beginnings of your baby forming his/her immune system. Antibiotic use during pregnancy and birth puts this natural, healthy exchange of micro-flora at risk. Therefore, antibiotics should only be used if all other methods of correcting bacterial imbalance have not worked. In addition, when given antibiotics for any reason during labor, the chances of your baby developing thrush is great.
How to change a positive GBS culture to a negative one B’ezras Hashem:
4 weeks before culturing take the following:
Natures Cure - Colloidal Silver: 1 tbsp. Colloidal Silver, hold for 5 minutes then swallow, twice daily.
Important: take 10 minutes apart from any food or drink.
Nature’s Miracle/Miracle Clay: 3 caps or ¾ tsp. powder twice daily. Miracle Clay is also great for overall digestion and works wonders for heartburn.
Natures Cure - Immune Power: 2 caps 3-4 times daily.
Nature’s Cure Colloidal Silver: You can also spray on vaginal area twice daily.
Cranberry Concentrate: 1 tsp. twice daily.
The following garlic protocol has really worked and should be done for 1–2 weeks prior to testing.
Take 1-2 small/medium cloves of garlic, peel and swallow whole with some water or food.
At bedtime take a medium/large clove of fresh garlic, peel and insert into the vagina, don’t push in too far. When inserting garlic into the vagina, the garlic taste can travel up to the mouth, remove upon awakening to stop garlic taste.
For more potency it is recommended to prick or make one or more, small fingernail slits. The least potent is an uncut clove, and the most potent is a clove cut in half. The more of the inside of the clove that is exposed, the stronger it is. A cut open clove can burn, see what you can tolerate. The garlic can cause a watery discharge.
Other Helpful tips:
Probiotics: Probiotics support the growth of healthy flora in the gut. Consume foods rich in beneficial bacteria such as yogurt, kefir, and sauerkraut throughout pregnancy.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Take between one teaspoon and one tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar in water daily during the last trimester to prevent colonization.
Apple Cider Vinegar Bath: This method is very effective. Three times a week, take a bath with ¼ cup apple cider vinegar added to the bath. The smell might be less than desirable, but it works.
Reduce or eliminate your intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates. They help bacteria and yeast grow and thrive, so eliminating them from your diet will help stop the growth of the streptococcus bacteria and contribute much to your health.
If you are successful at eliminating GBS, it is a good idea to continue the treatment until your baby is born to give yourself the best possible chance that the bacteria will not be present at the time of birth.
Keep in mind! You bear the responsibility for the future of your child and generations to come. Eat well, have more fruits (on an empty stomach), and vegetables and drink enough pure water. Make sure you’re moving your bowels well daily – it’s your key to health!
