CANDIED PECANS

CANDIED PECANS

  • 2 lb. pecans or walnuts soaked for approx. 6 hours and rinsed well
  • 4-6 oz. maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Vanilla to taste

Directions

  1. Dehydrate the nuts at 105 degrees overnight or until almost dry.
  2. Transfer the nuts to a bowl
  3. Pour on enough maple syrup to coat nuts. Sprinkle with cinnamon and vanilla, mix well.
  4. Put the nuts on a telex sheet. Dehydrate again at 105 degree for 4 hours or until dry
  5. Transfer the nuts to a bowl again
  6. Coat again with 4-6 oz. maple syrup and mix well. Taste and add more cinnamon or vanilla as needed. Dehydrate until crisp.

For oven use, turn oven on lowest and place nuts on parchment paper lined baking pan

Check when done. It will take much less time in the oven to get crispy.
